MEET LYNN ARCHER

CANDIDATE FOR
ULSTER COUNTY LEGISLATURE
TOWN OF ROCHESTER AND EAST WAWARSING—DISTRICT 21

A vote for Lynn Archer is a vote for GOOD GOVERNMENT

LYNN was first elected to represent our district in the County Legislature in 2013.

As your legislator, Lynn has facilitated vital connections and partnerships to accelerate economic growth and creation in Ulster County. She understands that progress depends on cooperation and listening to one another and has a proven track record of building consensus among diverse groups of people to move ideas and innovative solutions forward.

  • During her first legislative term, Lynn sponsored bipartisan legislation requiring the county to assess regional broadband availability and to develop a comprehensive plan for broadband expansion throughout Ulster County.

  • Lynn also worked to develop an interconnected trail system to make Ulster County a world-class tourism destination and established an Ulster County Animal Abuse Registry.

Lynn was elected to her second term in the County Legislature in 2017.

  • Lynn cares deeply about the quality of services rendered by the county and is committed to finding the most cost-effective way to deliver quality services to our residents—especially for those most in need.

  • You can trust Lynn to hold the line on taxes.

  • Lynn walks the talk when comes to transparency in County Government. As the chair of the Legislature’s powerful Ways & Means Committee, Lynn has worked hard to build greater transparency and accountability into county budgeting, and to provide the legislature with a truly independent means of fiscal analysis.

Lynn also introduced an improved budget process and led an initiative requiring detailed departmental committee reports, a method that increases legislative oversight.

  • Lynn took a lead role in reshaping the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency to better focus the agency’s PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) program to support real job growth in Ulster County.

  • Lynn is a fierce advocate for our region’s farms and is deeply committed to bringing resources at the county level to support start-ups, relocations and expansions of small businesses within our community.

  • Throughout her tenure in the legislature, Lynn has worked to better integrate our region’s crucial growth engines—agriculture and agritourism—into the County’s economic development programs.

  • Lynn will fight to protect our environment and natural resources with sustainable solutions.

“I will safeguard what matters most to the residents of Ulster County—keep taxes low, advance economic prosperity, make sure our schools are successful and safe, our health-care first rate, and our environment sound!”
